Yellow River In Culture

Traditionally, it is believed that the origin of Chinese civilization in the Yellow River Basin. The Chinese refer to the river as the "mother river" and the "cradle of Chinese civilization." During the long history of China, the Yellow River is considered a blessing and a curse, and has been dubbed as "The Pride of China" (simplified Chinese: 中国 的 骄傲, Traditional Chinese: 中国 的 骄傲, pinyin: Zhōngguóde Jiāo'ào ) and "China Sorrow" (simplified Chinese: 中国 的 痛, Traditional Chinese: 中国 的 痛, pinyin: Zhōngguóde Tong).
