The total length of the river is estimated at 4400 km (2800 miles). Lena River basin area is calculated by 2.49 million km sq (961,394 sq km). The gold is washed from the sand and Vitim Olyokma, and mammoth tusks have been dug in the delta. The river flows northward between high Kirenga Lena and Lake Baikal. Vitim river drains the northern part of Lake Baikal. The river flows north Olyokma.
